Taking portraits of people in elevators is a race against time and a tussle with darkness.
In the low light elevator environment, a wide angle lens and a flash are necessary to see into corners, and reveal the claustrophic containers that carry us. To me, they are like chambers of hyper-reality. They give us a formal look, like a portrait studio, where we pose elaborately doing nothing.
