Kit Stover trained as a teacher and taught briefly before having three children. Since then, she has worked as a volunteer in the Newton Public Schools in several different capacities including bringing enrichment programs in the arts and sciences into eighteen schools. She lives in the Boston area with her husband and youngest daughter.

Since Stover was a child, she has been taking photographs recording family, friends and their experiences and travels. From 1992-94 she and her family lived in the Philippines; this gave her the opportunity to travel and to photograph different cultures. The photographs in this portfolio are from that period. Since the winter of 1999, she has enrolled in three Radcliffe photographic seminars taught by Holly Smith Pedlosky and Karen Davis.
