Artist's
Bio
In 1991, after studying the technical aspects of photography at UMass
Dartmouth, I began to photograph exclusively in black and white. Using
light and contrast, my objective was to translate, onto black and white
film, what the eye sees naturally in color. Earlier training at the Art
Students League in New York City helped define my compositional
ability. In 1997, my interest turned to color photography. My focus is
primarily on landscape and street photography. Currently, I am involved
with investigating the use of the computer as a digital darkroom.
Ive
studied with Bruce Dale and Jim Sugar, former staff photographers for
National Geographic Magazine; Alison Shaw, nationally recognized Marthas
Vineyard landscape photographer, Linde Waidhoffer, and Karen Tennenbaum,
an authority on the subject of digital photography processes. Currently,
I am a member of Photography Atelier 2003, a seminar taught by Holly Smith
Pedlosky & Karen Davis, Lesley Uniiversty, Cambridge MA.
