"Per Piacere"

I’ve always been interested in photographing people, yet because I can be shy I have been most comfortable photographing strangers when they are not looking. On a recent trip to Italy, my photography changed. With just a simple "Per Piacere" "Please." I asked people to interact with me while I took their picture.

This web portfolio is a blend of images taken while exploring the streets of Boston, New York, and Rome. Some of the photographs were taken while I tried to make myself invisible as a photographer, capturing people in their environments unexpectedly. The other images are of people as they respond to my "Per Piacere" by allowing me to capture our interactions.
