What were these buildings? Who used them? Why were they abandoned? What is inside? I approach them and peer through the broken windows into dark, unknown interiors and from shadowy space into the light, beyond. Reflections on the glass look back at me becoming impenetrable opaque shapes.

Until recently a color photographer, it is with black and white film in my camera that I’m attracted to these mysterious spaces – looking for answers. These new images refer back to my earliest interest in black and white photography and forward to my newest explorations in the digital darkroom.
